Cold Steel Oyabun 3.5 Tanto Pocket Folding Knife

COLD STEEL OYABUN TANTO POINT FOLDING KNIFE: For years, we have thought about creating a folding knife that closely emulates our famous Tanto. With Andrew Demko's work on the problem and Lynn Thompson's input, a satisfactory solution was discovered. The result is the Oyabun, which we are proud to offer.

The Oyabun incorporates a reinforced blade point, a high satin polish, expert heat treatment (Rc57 and sub-zero quenched), and the kind of stunningly sharp edge that Cold Steel's reputation was founded upon. Additionally, it is equipped with an integral flipper for effortless opening and a (patent-pending) leaf spring lock and safety.

The 4034 stainless steel blade is housed in a strong, economical handle that's reinforced with stainless steel liners. The handle is injection molded with a Griv-Ex foundation and then over-molded with soft, checkered Kray-Ex, which is fastened to the frame with two robust bolts, providing a comfortable and secure grip even in demanding conditions.

The Oyabun closely emulates Cold Steel's famous Tanto blade, offering a reinforced blade point and a high satin polish. Crafted from 4034 stainless steel, the blade undergoes expert heat treatment, achieving a hardness of Rc57 and sub-zero quenching, ensuring a razor-sharp edge that is also easy to sharpen and features a moderate degree of wear resistance.

The Griv-Ex handle provides robust support for the blade while minimizing weight, and the soft, checkered Kray-Ex over-molding offers a comfortable and secure grip even in demanding conditions. The Oyabun folder is equipped with a sturdy leaf-spring lock and a (patent-pending) secondary safety mechanism that is extremely resistant to shock and impact, offering incomparable levels of safety.
